John D's Story
After high school, I went to Bates College for two years. I really wasnât quite ready for college, so in 1966 I enlisted in the Navy for 4 years. By the time I got out, I had some direction in my life and was married. I finished at Bates and enrolled At Penn State College of Medicine and graduated in 1976. After 5 years of residency in General Surgery, I moved to Belfast Maine on Penobscot Bay where I have been for most of the remaining time. fe, Kelly, and I have been married since then. I had three boys in my first marriage and she had three boys in her first marriage so together we have raised all six boys. All of the boys are or have been married and so we also have 16 grandchildren. All but one of the boys live in Maine so most of our life is built around family and grandchildren. We have a camp on a nearby lake where we spend most of our summers. We don't travel much- I figure why go somewhere else when everybody there is trying to get where you are. I'm not a fan of social media but I have made an exception for this reunion.
